Sprucing up the place

It's that time!! Spring has sprung and I'm ready to spruce up my front yard! I have been working A LOT (like 12-20 hours a week) of Overtime! I'm tired, but the extra cash has been worth it! I get to spend it on me and my house! I love it!

Here are my new flowers, that will go in my new pots (Big Lot find...love them) and my new potting soil. I told my parents that I'm putting my 4-H Gardening Skills to use along with my 4-H sewing skills (for my curtains)

I also purchased some pathway lights! Loving it!

These are the my new flowers before getting transplanted into my pretty pots!

My purple pot---going to spring up some yellow roses!

My red pot with my pretty yellow flowers (I forgot the name)

My brown pot with my pink roses!

My blue pot with Rosemary!

My green pot with purple flowers (and my foot)

This is Lucky taking a nap while I was gardening. I know the weeds are bad!

All my pots ready to go! Sorry a little dark!

The next day I put the pots out front. I'm going to fill in the gaps with my flowers or shrubs and maybe some colored mulch.

Getting a little color in my drab front yard!

Here are my new pathway lights!

I installed them all myself! I'm learning mad skills!
Got 2 rectanuglar pots and purple petunias!

Getting ready for the transplant!

Lucky was enjoying being outside with me

My petunias right outside my front door, I think I need one more set!

More pathway lights to the back gate!

Here it is at night! They look great, but I can't capture it on camera...so come on over and see!

I'm excited! I'm loving my front yard more and more!

Woo hoo! 2 days work and it's been worth it!

Stock up sale!

This weekend was a Stock up sale! Yes, as you can see I overloaded on the Fry's Sale! These babies were $0.38 a piece!!! YA BABY. Back in August, I gave up drinking soda, aka -Pop, all together, and this is my new treat. I really don't like water quite yet, so this is better than all the pop I was drinking. These suckers don't come on sale that often, and now they did! WOO HOO! Yesterday, I bought 4 cases, today, I bought 3 more. So, now I have a food storage started of Poweraid! If anyone comes to my house, guess what I'll be offering you!

Pictures 1 and 2 below are the cases on days 1 and 2. Picture 3 is one case in my cupboard ready to be put in the fridge for consumption! Picture 4....my food storage, aka-my guest room closet! I should be stocked for awhile!

I LOVE SALES! Even though people were eyeing my cart thinking, man this girl drinks a lot....hey, it's not soda or alcohol (never would be alcohol, but still)! I rocked it! Don't be jealous of my bargains!

One more finished

One more project done! WOO HOO! I know most of these crafts are already on my other blog (for sale) but these are new to me. I'm now replacing the ones that got stolen a couple of years ago at the place I was renting. So far, my neighborhood has been great and they haven't been touched! This one didn't take as long as the others, maybe because I have done it many times. Oh well, I still think it's cute!

Things to keep me busy

I have felt accomplished this week because I have got so many things finished and have had some fun! I have finished 2 more crafts, one for me and one for my mom and dad (see below). It's fun doing this crafts, even though they take time, I love having them for the holidays.

I have also given the dogs baths and brushed them. I have done all my laundry!

I went to a movie with my friend Nancy yesterday and to Bahama Bucks

We did our Visiting Teaching yesterday (2 of the 3 ladies, one more to go next week)

I watered all my mom's plants outside and then had to clean her floors (the cat made a couple of messes the last couple of days....gross!)

Made some cookies and dinners!

And also, worked some good old overtime once again.

It's been a productive week and I'm working on 2 more crafts, maybe I'll get them finished before the parents come home tomorrow! WOO HOO!

I've been busy!

So, I have had a couple of days to myself (boring!!!!) so I've been busy! I finally finished my curtain for the living room! I did it all by myself, well, besides cutting it out (my mom helped with with that) but I did the rest today. I also worked on an Easter decoration for my yard! I think both turned out great! Loving it! But, I still don't want the alone time :) Anyway, remember....any of decorations are for sale if you want one!

PS--the only thing left to do inside my house is 2 curtains for the kitchen windows! WOO HOO! Next stop....the yards!

I've become domesticated!

My mom took the time out of her busy schedule to help me become a little domesticated! She helped me measure out the material for my new curtains. I pinned, ironed, and sewed these cute little valances. I have these 3 little windows (16 X 16) and we spruced them up a bit! I love them! We're going to make one more valance to go over my sliding glass door, SOMEDAY :) It was fun learning a new skill! Thanks Mom!

Mixed Emotions

Yesterday was a sad, but good day. My parents placed my Grandma Hall in a rest home; it has come to that time in her life that this is the next step. She has lived with my parents for about 3 ½ years and I have enjoyed getting to see her almost every day. We have had good days and bad days with her but I know my parents will never regret having her in their home. She’s starting to really lose her memory, which is so sad to see her like that. She hardly eats anything, and now it’s hard to get her to take care of herself. This decision has not come easy, but I know it’s the best thing for her and for my parents. We were lucky to find a rest home that only has like 5 ladies in there, its LDS ran, and is very clean. This will be the best place for her. We will visit her every weekend. Last night it was strange not seeing her sitting in her couch, but I know this is what needs to be done. Everyone loves her! We go to church and the people flock around her! Even in the stores people treat her so nice. She loves to people watch, and she’s not scared to find out more about people if she sits next to them. Even though some days she ditched out of church, she still has a strong testimony.

Grandma…we’ll miss you but we’ll still see you!
