3-4 hours at As You Wish---but it was worth it!

My friend Heather and I met up on the 23rd to do pottery and go out to eat. We used to work together for a couple of years, but she has moved on to bigger and better things :) So, this is the first time we got to hang out since she left. It was so much fun! We both have a Hawaiian themed roomed at our houses (my guest room and her son's room...eventually), so we found cute Woody Trucks and surfboards. We had a blast painting them and I love our finished products. We also ate at Fatburger, and that was a tasty burger! I have never eaten there. Thanks Heather for the great Saturday afternoon! :)

Heather getting ready to work
I'm so nervous to start it!
Step One---the red! I love that it's glittery!
Heather's first step--the blue! (we decided to use this kind of paint because it was so fun and you don't have to wait for them to fire it---so we were able to take our trucks home that day)
Almost done!
My Finished truck! My camera died so I didn't get Heather's...but it was awesome too!

Apollo Group, Inc. Holiday Party

Julie, Peggy, Me, Heather and Grace

I have had a great December so far, and I need to post things that I have done, it'll probably take me a couple of days :) December 14, 2007--Holiday Christmas party for my work was held at a resort in Scottsdale. It was a Vegas theme, and we had a blast. We dressed up (as you can see I look exactly like how I went to Corey's wedding because I didn't have anything else), ate great food, played Bingo, placed a bet on Horse Racing, and enjoyed seeing my friends. Don't worry I didn't gamble, as it was all pretend money. Oh, and we didn't plan to almost all of us wear red either. It was a fun time...here are some pictures :)

Fancy food included: fancy butter, fancy lobster tail and chicken, fancy deserts (not shown) all so fancy for me! :)

Christmas Traditions

I saw this on Meghan’s page and thought I would pass it along… and see what your traditions are!

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? For Christmas—wrapping paper!

2. Real tree or artificial? Artificial. Got it for $20 last year after Thanksgiving!

3.When do you put up the tree? The day after Thanksgiving

4. When do you take the tree down? Sometime after Christmas, haven’t decided when yet

5. Do you like eggnog? No way! Grandpa Hall when he was alive always made me take a sip of it and I hated it! Yucky!

6. Favorite gift received as a child? I had so many! From the trampoline, to a bike, skateboard, clothes, dolls, barbies, quilts, too many to name!

7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yup! I love them!

8. Hardest person to buy for? My mom! She never gives many ideas!

9. Easiest person to buy for? My dad!

10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Coal???

11. Mail or email Christmas cards? At Christmas time I love getting them in the mail and displaying them…send me some!

12 . Favorite Christmas movie? Christmas Vacation, Santa Clause 1,2,3, and the Rudolph classic one

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? After Thanksgiving (but this year I have procrastinated and need to do it this week)

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Nope…well, only at White Elephant things

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Anything that is Christmas candy!

16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Clear--- have my silver and purple tree

17. Favorite Christmas song? I love a lot of them

18. Travel for Christmas or stay home? This year we are planning on going to Vegas to visit Corey’s family

19. Can you name all of Santa's' reindeer? Yes, but I’d have to sing the song, and you don’t want to hear that.

20. Angel on the treetop or a star? I have a silver star

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas morning baby! 4:00 am this year!

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Stores are way too crowded and I need groceries!

23. What I love most about Christmas? That it is about the birth of the Savior

24. Favorite Christmas Tradition? First it starts on Thanksgiving weekend. We paint a new decoration; day after we put everything up (has to be up before my birthday). Then we take goodies around to all the people we visit teach, and then open presents on Christmas morning and have a great dinner with the family.

YIKES!! Don't go!!

Ok, so Thursday we had a "team builder" at work. We went to the Mystery Mansion Murder Dinner Theatre, (http://www.mysterymansion.com/index_magic.shtml) which looked like fun, but don't ever go! There were so many sexual innuendos! This was during the day and with my co-workers! Yikes! First of all, we all sat at tables and were served salad, and the characters were walking around (all ready in character) and was making us do stupid things. I was picked on from the very beginning at my table and no one else was. The magician (a dirty, stinky, sweaty, old man) kept coming around to me and making me stand up at the table and do little things to embarrass me, would return and place his cape around me and kiss my head, then he would kiss my cheeks, and even feed me dinner. Of course is was kind of funny, and my friends loved it that he was picking on me and not them. Anyway, the show begins, and the magician --Mostly Magnificent Steve gets up there and tells everyone that he will be looking for a new assistant...yes, you got it! He comes out and gets me! oh my! I was so nervous! Anyway, I get up there and had to hold up a bull's eye because he was going to throw swords at me (but he made me hold the bull's eye in front of my face so I couldn't see what was going on). He told me not to peek, and every time I tried he started to get mad at me. So I was looking out in the audience and asking my friends "what he is doing" because I couldn't see and they kept telling me to duck down. So I was playing along and doing that...next thing I know the trick is interrupted by another character, and Steve calls her the "b" word to me and I was like what the??? So, he helps me down the steps to go back to my seat, then he starts pinching my butt! I screamed, turned my butt the other way, and walked backwards to my seat! I was so embarrassed! He continued to harass other people and me throughout the entire show. Now the other characters were just as bad and rubbing their chests in the boys faces, and so on and so on. It was a funny, yet inappropriate thing for a work environment. Don't go! It was nasty! (The picture I have isn't posting on here...I'm hoping my friend sends me some she took) :)
Sorry for the long post, but I was traumatized by the entire thing!

A December 1st to Remember

What a way to bring December in! It's starting to feel like winter!! Yesterday and today have been such beautiful days in Arizona. We finally had some much needed rain! It rained so much that the roads were flooding out here in the boondocks. My mom, dad, and I were going to finish putting up the Christmas Decorations in the yard, but it's under water, so we decided to take a drive up towards Canyon Lake/Superstition Mountain and ended up going as far as Tortilla Flatt. Now, living out here I don't take advantage of the scenery because I see the Superstition Mountains everyday but this is an exception! It's breath taking! I see a lot of people every day taking pictures of the mountain, but today was picture worthy! We drove to Canyon Lake because they drained the lake to fix the generators at the dam, and it's crazy to see it without a lot of water, because that's where we usually take the boat out all summer You can see the bottom in some places, and all the junk in the water! Enjoy the pics! Superstition Mountain
