Viva Las Vegas!!

I just got home from 3 days in Vegas with my friends! We had a
great time, and I'm sleepy! I just wanted to tell you all go see Mama Mia if you ever have a chance! It was good...there were a couple of adult humor parts, but it wasn't too bad! It is based on the songs from ABBA....it was worth it! :) I will post pictures and more about my trip...I'm going to go soak in the tub and relax! My feet are killing me! :)

Vacation day....

Hello all! Can I tell you how much I love taking a vacation day? I work for the University of Phoenix, and we get our vacation in one lump sum at the beginning of September. Well, since I'm poor, going to school, I haven't taken a vacation, so I have time to kill before August 31st! Anyway...I have taken every Friday off in August, and I'll be taking the next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off as well! WOO HOO! Anyway, the past Fridays I have been completeing my assignments for school early, and I was going to do the same today...did it happen? NO!!!

Anyway...I woke up around 8:30 (so nice to sleep in!!), went and did some grocery shopping, came home and watched TV! Yes, it truly is a lazy day! However, my paper is screaming my name and I just don't want to do it! So, tomorrow (after my sister does my hair---time for a cut and some color) I'm going to have to work on it. I need some motivation since I'm being so lazy! But it was so worth it!

So, next Wed, Thurs, and Friday---I'm going to Vegas! 2 of my friends from work and I are wasting our vacation time, staying at Excalibur (yes it's cheap during the week), going to a show--Mama Mia on Thursday, and then coming back on Friday (when the rates triple). It's going to be so much fun, and that'll be my vacation for the year!

Wow, how many times can I say "anyway" anyway? :)

Lucky's 1st Birthday Party

Birthday party was......a SUCCESS!

Ok, we had so much fun at Lucky's b-day party! Pictures will be coming soon, my mom took over 50 she said, so I'm going to have to go to her house and download them. Lucky was very spoiled, he received many new toys, a lot of treats, a balloon, a new mat for his food, leash, collar, and a picture frame. With 6 dogs and 7 people, and we survived :) Today is Lucky's actual "1 year adoption day" ...Happy Adoption Day! :)

My Parent's house

We have been working on a couple of rooms at my parent's house. My dad installed all the new hardwood floors, and my mom and I painted and decorate a bit. It looks so big and so good! For those of you that had been to our SJ house when we where there, my mom still has all the temple pictures that she cross-stitched. She only has 64 (that's what we have room for) and there are like 120 something now :)

Ok, so I'm a cheesy "mom" to my puppy. On August 19th, will be one year since I adopted Lucky. I can't imagine my life without him! He's my buddy! We go everywhere together. He likes to ride in the front seat in my car and put his head on my lap. He lays at my feet all day when I'm working, and sometimes when we get to watch TV he sits in the recliner with me. We also have trained him to ride on our "mule" the quad. Yes, I have truly spoiled him...but that's what I get to do :) The other day my Grandma Hall said "Michelle, I can't imagine what your kids are going to be like, if this is how much your dog is spoiled!" It was cute! I do spoil him. He gets a bath once a week, I brush him almost every night, he gets a treat if he goes potty, and we just play together. I love my boy! Oh, and I'm also throwing him a birthday party next Saturday. I'm going to invite my parent's dog, my sister's dogs, and my granny's dogs (and of course their owners). It's going to be fun! Pictures to come soon! Just don't think I'm too cheesy! :)

Sundays....

Can I just tell you all how much I love Sundays? Ok, I get to sleep in...that's one bonus! Two, I get to spend most of the day with my family...mom, dad, and grandma. We all go to church together, (there isn't a single's ward in Apache Junction), and then come home to a yummy dinner and then sit and relax. It's fun spending time with them.

One thing I have to come to realize is how out of practice I am at the piano! I was released as Relief Society Secretary, and am now the piano player for Relief Society! I have to go over to my mom and dad's and practice, practice, practice! I have never been a good piano player, and I can't sit down and just play it, I really do have to practice! But, I'm doing it, and I know that Heavenly Father is helping me because I'm doing better than I thought! And I must be either getting older or my eyes are getting worse...because my mom bought me a new hymn book, I told her get me the big spiral bound one so that I can see notes :) We'll just blame it on the eyes and not my age!

Now, it makes me want to bust out my saxophone and play, but I know that I wouldn't be able to make a sound come out of it! It's been 7 years since I was in band (at EAC)...so I wouldn't even know where to begin to play that!

I'm also grateful for the air conditioning! Last night my parent's AC went out, and it was so hot in their house, I don't know how they are staying there! They are running their swamp cooler, but it's not cooling anything because it's so humid outside! I told them they are going to have to come crash in my recliner and couch! I couldn't last more than a couple of hours there so I came to my place :)

Anyway...those were my thoughts for today :) It's easier to type than write in my journal....I'm going to have to do that now!
