I didn't until this morning. It's 4:00 AM and it came on. Had to bust out the manual :)

Then, the funny thing is, this article came online today! I'm still laughing, I was in the 46% until this morning....where do you fit in??? Maybe I'm tired, but I LAUGHED OUT LOUD! Now, if you read my blog, we can increase that percentage, because you are in the know! :) LOL

Do you recognize the symbol here? It lights up in your instrument panel and looks like a U-shaped pictograph with treads and an exclamation point in the middle.

Do you understand what it means now?

If you guessed a low tire-pressure warning, you are right. If you didn’t recognize the symbol, that’s also understandable because one out of three drivers do not, according to Schrader, a company that makes tire pressure monitoring systems.

The warning for the TPMS lights up when one or more of your vehicle’s tires is 25% below the manufacturer’s recommended pressure. The system is now required on all vehicles starting with the 2008 model year.

The issue here seems to be that the public hasn’t been properly educated on the warning symbol, which is supposed to be “idiot proof” and understandable across a wide variety of cultures and languages. Yet 46% of drivers couldn’t figure out that the icon represents a tire and 14% thought the symbol represented another problem with the vehicle entirely, according to Schrader.

As we said earlier in the week, properly inflated tires are vitally important to your safety. Low pressure will affect your braking, acceleration, stability, cornering and fuel economy. The government instituted the TPMS mandate after the Bridgestone/Firestone tire failures on the Ford Explorer in 2000, a controversy that was partly attributed to inadequately inflated tires.

A Week Ago Today....

One week ago from today, I started a 21 Day Cleanse. I'm on a team at work to change our eating habits and get healthy. Our team decided to start out with a 21 day cleanse. Now, this means no sugar, soda, coffee, alcohol or carbs. Well, I'm off soda, coffee and alcohol (LOL, never been on coffee and alcohol, and it's been almost a year without soda). So, basically I just had to change my eating habits.

The menu consists of water, veggies, fruits, and white meat. Sound yummy? I'm so not creative with food, so right now I've been having a lot of the same things over and over, so I need to do some more reading to find good recipes. But so far, it seems to be working.

The first 2 days were so hard! I was always hungry and going to the bathroom (TMI??) . It's all that water going through me, and I guess that's what a cleanse is. Anyway, after the first couple of days, I'm in a routine and it's working, so far. I basically eat every 2 hours (the snacks are veggies or fruit) and then I have my meat for lunch or dinner.

Anyway, I may seem crabby for awhile until I get through this, but I know it'll be good. The going without sugar is probably the hardest thing. If you know me, you know how much I love sugar!!!! But, I'll be good....for now ;)

Now, I just need motivation to go the gym, that's the hard part!

Granny.....guess she needed some sympathy! JK

My Granny was taking her regular 6 mile walk this morning, tripped, fell, and broken her hand in 2 places! The bone is even penetrating through her skin! They are scheduling surgery for tomorrow. We've been at the hospital since 8:00 this morning, and she is doing well. She was making her jokes as always and is in ...good spirits. Keep her in your prayers for tomorrow's surgery! She's at Tempe St. Lukes if you want to give her a buzz (on the phone) :)

She said she couldn't get up, so she dragged herself over to the fence and pulled herself up. She tried calling my Uncle, but he was outside. She yelled for help, and no one came. Finally, she flagged someone down, and this nice man took her home. I'm grateful there are still nice people out there that helped her.

She'll probably kill me for posting these pictures!

Surprise! Happy Early 75th Birthday Granny!

Each month we have family home evening (FHE) as a Winkler family. One house is in charge each month, and July was my turn! We decided to give Granny an early surprise party for her 75th birthday while she just thought it was regular FHE, she even had to bring food! LOL We pulled it off and had a great time! We had a ton of food and fun! Wishing you a very happy birthday!

My mom has made this tree skirt for Granny. It took her a year! It's cross-stitched and it's beautiful! My mom does an awesome at anything she does!

Ok....so, if you go to yard sales or go to antique stores.....and if you see an old wood tool box like this....let me know! Isn't this cute? I stole this off of a craft blog I stalk...and I like it! It doesn't have to be long like this one because my counter isn't that long! Anyway, let me know!

3 Years and counting

So, 3 years ago this month I started this wonderful, oh so wonderful, everyone has to read it, all knowing blog! Just kidding (only about that wording stuff, but it has been 3 years). I can't believe how fast time is flying! This year is already half gone, and what have I done? I can't think of much! But, it's been fun! So, here's to you Blog...Happy Anniversary! Enjoy reading.

PS I don't have much going on in life, I need to do some fun stuff and blog more!

My 1st Craigslist find!

So, I have had 2 experiences with craigslist in about the last 6 months. One good, one not so good! The not so good one was for a tree service and that guy was not good to me or my Granny! He left so many limbs of the trees and didn't tell us, and......oh my, don't get me started! Not good!

2nd one! Loving this one! I found this armoire! I've been wanting one, and my Granny has been searching at yard sales, but I finally found one! This sucker is heavy duty! My dad has been my helper and we carried it down stairs at the lady's house I bought it from and into my house today! SO HEAVY! But we made it! THANKS DADDY!

I got a smokin' deal on it too! I bartered and got it for $15 less! That's so not like me!

Don't you love it? I need a new TV....ya, when I was moving the bed back in place, it fell off the bed. Dumb me should have moved it off, but I didn't, now I'll have to pay for it! GOSH! I'm an idiot!

But, I'm loving it! And now both of my bedrooms are back in business! They've been dismantled for about 2 weeks.

The armoire has 3 drawers below, where I'm keeping towels and sheets for my guests! I haven't had a guest yet....who's first???? :)

Thank you craigslist for renewing my faith in you!

Next steps for my house...guest bathroom (haven't painted it yet), moving in my piano (eventually from Grandma's house) and starting on my back yard (sprinklers and a lawn)!
